Roof Sheet Fixing

Whether it s a corrugated roof made from bitumen or a flat sheet roof made from plastic our fixings are compatible with many types of roof sheet.

Roof sheet fixing.

The general advice for fixing is 4 5 screws across the sheets purlin we advise using 1 screw on the overlap of the next sheet. The first raw of fixings at eave is located at 2 5 cm from the edge of the roof support osb or purlin. Remove roofing and turn each sheet over. Corrugated roofing sheets should be installed into the corrugated sheets crown using a 65mm tek screw with baz washer.

Fixing and securing sheets. You ll will find everything from nail fixings to glazing bars jointing strips and edging strips. The main fixings are used to transfer all the loads acting on the cladding back to the supporting structure and to form a watertight seal. As with all of the fixing screws provided you can use a colour cap to hide the stainless steel head.

Eight foot 1 2 inch thick plywood is standard sheathing material. Roof fixings are required to piece together and add the finishing touches to your roofing project. Measure the opening of the section of roof to be shingled cut the plywood to size and nail to roof rafters. These should be long enough to get a secure fixing into your purlins.

If fixing screws are left in the valleys your roof will leak in hundreds of places. Lay sheets in the opposite direction to the prevailing winds. You will have to paint the roof but is cheaper than buying new roofing. Start laying sheets over the gutter with 6 cm overhang maximum.

We recommend the use of our self drilling tek screws with 5 16 hexagon heads and 19mm sealing washers for fixing your roof. Up signs indicate the direction of the ridge to lay the sheets correctly.
